A casual cocktail bar inside a restored locksmith building from 1962.

With the same name, iconic KEYS sign and storefront for over 50 years.

Now with food, drink, art and music. For the people.

With a long history in the neighborhood — dating back to the early 1960's — we have seen the unsettling pace of change all around us. We believe that restoring small neglected buildings helps preserve a little bit of the history and character of the King neighborhood while providing our neighbors with a comfortable place to gather and socialize.

Keys Lounge was created by the crew from nearby Radio Room, which has served the King neighborhood for over a decade. Much like the Radio Room building, the Keys building sat unloved and decaying for many years. With a crumbling foundation and collapsing roof, the building had long been a hazard and an eyesore to the neighborhood. We set out to save as much as possible, successfully restoring the storefront and historic signage, even repurposing some of the old locksmith contents, including many of the keys left behind.

What remains is a little piece of King neighborhood history, now serving as a welcoming restaurant and lounge that reflects our commitment to preservation and hospitality.
