  • KEYS LOUNGE

Keys Lounge is a casual cocktail bar

inside a restored locksmith building from 1962.

Same name, same iconic KEYS sign and same storefront for over 60 years.

Food, drink, art and music. For the people.

    ------------------

With our family history in the neighborhood dating back to the early 1960's, we have witnessed the unsettling pace of change happening all around us, especially in the last several years. We believe that restoring small neglected buildings preserves a little bit of the history and character of the King neighborhood while providing our neighbors with a comfortable place to gather and socialize.

Keys Lounge was created by the crew from nearby Radio Room, which has served the King neighborhood for over a decade. Much like the Radio Room building, the Keys building sat unloved and decaying for many years until we came along. With a crumbling foundation and collapsing roof, the building had long been a hazard and an eyesore to the neighborhood. We set out to save as much of the old building as possible, successfully restoring the storefront and historic signage, even repurposing some of the old locksmith contents, including many of the keys left behind.

What remains is a little piece of King neighborhood history, now serving as a welcoming restaurant and lounge that reflects our commitment to preservation and hospitality.
